Bachelorette Party
Planning
So your best girl is
getting married and you need to throw the bachelorette party. The entire night’s
festivities rests on your shoulders. Fear not! There are only a couple of
basic elements to every bachelorette party that will guarantee everyone has a
great time. Remember: no one knows the bride like you do! You know her
interests, and what she’ll want to do the weeks before she gets married.
1. Find a man to take off
his clothes. Take everyone to a male strip club. Sure, it seems obvious, but
it’s obvious because women go there for fun! Once your friends have a couple
of drinks in them, they will think going to a strip club was the greatest idea
you came up with, ever.
2. Barhopping: It’s not
just for men anymore! After you leave the strip club (or maybe before,) hop
around bars. It’s a great bonding experience for women, and a wonderful way to
meet a lot of people in a single night. Always double check with your main
girl (the bride) if she’s having a good time. Remember: too much beer is not
ideal for a woman who needs to fit into a size 2 wedding dress a week later, so
see if she’s comfortable chugging beers all night.
3. An alternative to
barhopping is restaurant-hopping. Start with Italian appetizers, move on to
Chinese for the man course, and finish with a New York diner corner dessert!
If you feel like dropping more cash, call ahead and arrange private rooms for
your party.
4. For the classier gals,
consider planning a weekend getaway. Spas and resorts have group deals,
especially for bachelorette parties. Get messages, dance, sightsee in exotic
locations, and enjoy a lifelong bond with your best gal pals before you give
the bride away.
5. Is the bride an
adrenaline junky? If you can’t really see your bride going for a night of
binge drinking, consider healthy alternatives. Arrange a weekend of kayaking,
sailing, skiing, or surfing on some water rapids. Another nice bonding idea is
hiking through nature and then pausing for an afternoon picnic with the
bachelorette party.
6. Casino night! A word
of advice: Don’t mix the barhopping with the casino. You don’t want the bride
crying because she lost all of her money. Consider pooling together some cash
for the bride so she doesn’t have to worry about spending her last dime on the
roulette wheel.
No two brides are the
same. Not all girls want to parade through downtown Las Vegas, drunk as a
skunk, with an inflatable penis hat atop her head. Not that there’s anything
wrong with that. Some brides prefer the low-key gathering of their closest
friends for a night of movies and gabbing. Whatever the case may be, you know
the bride better than anyone, so consider her tastes and interests when
planning her bachelorette party.
