Fun Beach Themed Wedding Invitations - Message in a Bottle
Author: Lauri Jean Crowe

Beach themed weddings are on the rise, and with just a little bit of preparation and a couple inexpensive purchases you can have unique wedding invitations that are sure to peak your potential guests interests and make them want to attend.

First you'll need some parchment like paper that you can run through your home printer - this is where you will print out the specifics: who, what when and where. Then you need enough glass bottles for the number of guests you will invite. You also need to purchase some inexpensive beach sand and a few seashells that you can find in the floral section of just about any craft store. This is the minimum - and you just fill the bottles with some sand and shells, put your rolled up invitation in the bottles and deliver.

You can add in the extra touch of a map on parchment with torn and burnt edges, a ribbon or a wax seal on the bottle, and even make a label for your bottle if you're really creative. It might be fun to personalize a label with a picture of the happy couple, or specifics about the bride and groom. This might also help farther away relatives remember who's who if they haven't seen you in a while.

Of course if you aren't creative there are companies who will create your message in a bottle for you, even mail it. However, the personal touch always is treasured by bride, groom and guests alike.

Just be sure you protect the glass when you mail - but unlike message in bottles tossed in the ocean, your wedding invitation in a bottle is sure to get your guests to the reception!
